About Me

I am a technology enthusiast with over five years experience working in the realms of Information Services within the public sector.

My technical support career began with an internally provided trainee role of Assistant IT Officer with the infrastructure team of the BSA which lead to several occasions where I was chosen to return to the team as additional support or to backfill a position. It is with that team that I find myself again.

Furthermore with this grounding experience I was afforded a secondment to the Public Trustee of Queensland (PTQ) for twelve months to fill a first/second level support role with that organisation as a Service Desk Officer. During this period my skill set was expanded in both technical and non technical duties, this included certified ITIL training.

Most recently I have been provided the opportunity to expand with an acting roll as a Network Support Officer and being provided an opportunity to pick up training on Microsoft Server 2012.

I have been studying Information Technology and Business at the undergraduate level over a number of years more recently after finding employment with the BSA completing a Bachelor of Information Technology with the Queensland University of Technology; I look forward to having this completed at the end of 2013. This has also provided me the opportunity to complete a course on Prince 2 Project Management methodoligies and attain the practitioner level certification.

During my studies I have taken a great interest in finding technologies both existing and emerging that match a need or dream. Currently this is exemplified for me in the areas of social media and ubiquitous computing and where these technologies assist in personal branding, the creative world and keeping people connected.
